With a small and manageable caseload, our Masters level therapists offer great service to the people of Wahkiakum County. We work really well with our local doctors, school, EMS, courts, jail and law enforcement in our partnerships to help our clients. Our outpatient offices are a quiet safe place to meet clients. Your colleagues include case managers and peers who help meet the needs described in the client's care plan.

The manageable case load size allows for a degree of specialization in fields of interest whether that interest is youth, young adults, or a general population of clients. None of our staff only see one category of client and they work together to make an equitable division of the workload. We offer generous training budgets to staff interested in improving their skills in new areas. We compensate for documentation time, and there is no expectation of working after hours or on-call, allowing Wahkiakum County Health and Human Services to stay committed to promoting a work-life balance.

Staff receive 11 paid holidays plus 2 days to take, paid, whenever they would like. Vacation and sick leave are accrued at one day per month (96 hours/year) equaling 13 paid holidays and 12 days of vacation to start. Our health insurance is a generous plan and the county itself often covers the cost of the employee and dependents depending on the plan you choose.

During the pandemic we have been offering services remotely at times, but we strongly prefer that clients meet us face to face if that can be done safely. We don't offer positions that are full time remote.
