We are looking for a Human Resources Manager to join the team at our Provo, UT location!
As the Human Resources Supervisor, you will lead the on-site Human Resources team in the successful execution of the organizations team member programs and activities. You will work closely with department leaders to offer expertise and guidance in the areas of talent acquisition, engagement and retention, coaching and development, and employee relations to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The HR Supervisor will also serve as a liaison for team members and promote a workplace culture that aligns with the organization's vision and core values.
Essential Job Functions
Supervises and evaluates day-to-day activities and performance of the HR team member(s) at the Provo location. Provides on-the-job training and recognizes achievements of team members. Actively promotes a culture of superior customer service and accountability.
In collaboration with the Human Resources leadership team, creates, implements, monitors and reviews the company's benefit, compensation, recruitment, recognition, retention and employment regulatory programs to support the company's goals and objectives. Fosters and maintains working relationships with outside vendors, service providers, consultants and third-party administrators.
Serves as strategic partner with in-house counsel to provide proactive professional advice on legal issues related to human relations matters to protect the interests of the company. Represents Duncan Aviation at personnel-related hearings and investigations, and interprets a variety of employment regulations for the purpose of ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
In collaboration with the Human Resources leadership team, reviews and recommends potential enhancements to current personnel practices, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
Participates in meetings that involve a range of issues (e.g. personnel actions, regulatory requirements, actions involving outside agencies, inter-department needs, etc.) for the purpose of developing recommendations and/or supporting department leaders.
Responds to written and verbal inquiries from a variety of internal and external sources for the purpose of resolving problems, providing information and/or referring to appropriate personnel and/or identifying the relevant issues and recommending or implementing a remediation plan.
Manages employee relations issues by investigating concerns and developing resolutions consistent with company policies and state and federal laws.
Promotes growth and development of assigned team member(s) to enhance team cohesiveness and trust by monitoring and evaluating team members' performance in a professional, positive, accurate and timely manner. Holds responsibility for hiring skilled team member(s). Recommends training needs and opportunities for team members. Participates in personal and leadership development opportunities and demonstrates leadership and professionalism.
Develops, interprets and monitors Team Member Services policies that create and support the company's culture and comply with regulatory requirements. Researches and evaluates employment best practices to position the company as a leader in our industry.
Advises department managers of state and federal regulations and effective human resource practices with regard to employee issues.
Counsels and guides department managers on appropriate performance management measures; assists department managers in writing corrective action memos and other documentation; attends or conducts corrective action sessions as warranted; performs necessary follow-up.
In collaboration with the Human Resources leadership team, creates, monitors and reviews annual budgets and strategic plan with HR Manager and Director of TMS to support the department's overall goals and objectives.
Provides human resources-related training and may act as trainer for training development as needed and appropriate, addressing areas such as performance counseling and employee relations issues.
Performs other related administrative and operational duties as assigned by management.
