Human Resources Supervisor administers human resources policies and programs and directs the human resources staff in managing and implementing programs that support employee productivity and company objectives. Provides day-to-day oversight of various human resources functions critical to the organization, including recruiting, employee/labor relations, health and safety, compensation, benefits, training, diversity, employee engagement, payroll, and employee records. Being a Human Resources Supervisor supervises and trains staff that provides operational and administrative support for recruiting, onboarding, and other hr functions and programs. Develops consistent and standard procedures to process employment, attendance, and other records and to ensure accuracy. Additionally, Human Resources Supervisor typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Human Resources Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Human Resources Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.     42A – Human Resource Specialist

    Job Description:

    Army Human Resource Specialists (MOS 42A) are responsible for performing personnel and administrative functions. Their role is to provide human resources support to all military members, regardless of rank or classification. Human Resource Specialists ensure the readiness, health, and welfare of all soldiers.

    Qualifications and Training: 
    To enter into this job, personnel must receive a minimum score of 100 on the General Technical (GT) and 90 on the Clerical (CL) portions of the ASVAB test. You must also be able to meet Secret security clearance as the information in this MOS can be private and sensitive. Once all entry testing is complete, recruits will attend 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training (BCT). When BCT is complete, recruits will head to Advanced Individual Training for 9 weeks. This training is a combination of hands-on and classroom instruction. There may be opportunities for advanced training depending on the type of unit that the individual is assigned to.

    Skills that are helpful in this MOS:
    • Communication and people skills
    • Ability to follow detailed orders/instruction.
    • English and Business administration aptitude

     Requirements:
    • Must be a US citizen or I-551 cardholder.
    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • Must pass a criminal background check with no open law violations.
    • Must pass a drug screen.
    • No felony.
    • Must currently be in good health with no physical limitations.

    Compensation:
    Total compensation includes housing, medical, food, special pay, and vacation time.
