Who are we looking for?

• A forward-thinking HR expert ready to take on a supervisory role.

• Politically savvy and professional with top-notch interpersonal skills and knowledge of safety and non-safety investigatory techniques and best practices. 

• A seasoned professional adept at crafting and executing policies, bringing extensive expertise in all core principles and practices of Human Resources, coupled with a comprehensive understanding of General Law City Government.

• Proven ability to lead a team with finesse.

• Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in human resources management, public personnel administration, or a related field.
• Familiarity with all fundamental principles and practices of Human Resources, specifically in the Council-Manager form of government. 
• Knowledge of safety and non-safety investigatory techniques and best practices.

• Highly developed Human Resources investigation techniques and best practices for both safety and non-safety personnel matters; 
• Expert in employee and employer relations; recruitment and selection, and benefits administration;
• Assessing programs and processes to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and performance;
• Effectively managing/juggling a wide range of assigned projects and priorities from start to finish with little supervision while ensuring appropriate check-ins to report on progress;
• Making sound decisions, exercising resourcefulness, and prioritizing tasks to meet a variety of demands;
• Analyzing, interpreting, and reporting out on research findings and recommendations in concise, usable formats well-tailored to the intended audience;
• Excellent presentation skills and the ability to present ideas concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing;
• Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with City management, co-workers, employees, and the general public

• Five (5) years of increasingly responsible professional experience in human resources management, contract administration, strategic planning, and budgeting practices, including three (3) years of supervisory experience.
