Title: Human Resources / Payroll Manager
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
Overview
The Human Resources / Payroll Manager oversees the functions of Human Resources and Payroll including recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, performance evaluation oversight and administration, employee relations, payroll activities and management of the company Human Resources and Payroll tool, Proliant. This position will support the Human Resources and Payroll functions for Cantrell Mechanical Solutions, Inc. located in Gainesville, Georgia and Jarrett Foods, LLC located in Lavonia, Georgia. This role requires travel between the locations with the primary office located in Lavonia, Georgia.
Specific Job Functions
Note: this position supports both organizations listed above; the job functions are listed and include activities related to both locations and companies.
Drive the development and maintenance of job descriptions and the organization chart.
Drive the development and maintenance of the organization’s Employee Guidebook and Policies and Procedures related to Human Resources and Payroll.
Assist with employee recruitment and scheduling of screenings, interviews and job offer documentation.
Drive the onboarding process and employee information using the organization tool, Proliant.
Maintain and track employee benefits administration in the Proliant tool, in conjunction with the CFO. Act as the liaison with the Insurance Broker, Turner Woods & Smith.
Coordinate open enrollment in February of each year for health benefits.
Coordinate open enrollment two times per year with supplemental vendors for life insurance and Accident Recovery; act as the liaison between these organizations and CMS/Jarrett Foods.
Maintain time keeping processes and machines based on the Proliant process; troubleshoot issues and resolution.
Maintain Proliant configuration for time keeping and performance management (e.g., Titles, Manager Assignments, Departments)
Complete weekly Payroll, Payroll Reporting and Payroll posting in the ERP System (Microsoft Business Central).
Complete weekly Payroll report and upload for the 401K / Roth retirement plan.
Act as the primary liaison between the HR/Payroll vendor (Proliant) and CMS / Jarrett Foods.
Maintain employee Performance Evaluation processes and workflows and complete follow up on past due evaluations, compensation adjustments, etc.
Act as an employee representative to provide benefits information, resolve issues, etc.
Coordinate activities required for monthly, quarterly and/or annual reporting for wage and unemployment related filings (completed by Proliant) as well as annual distribution of W2 and 1095 reports (generated by Proliant).
Requirements and Qualifications
BA/BS required; Specialty in Human Resources or related field preferred.
In lieu of a degree, a minimum of five (5) years of experience working as a Human Resources Manager.
Strong time management skills and ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and assignments with minimal supervision.
Proficiency with Microsoft Work and Excel.
Experience with and knowledge of Federal and State employment related tax requirements and laws.
Ability to travel to locations in Gainesville and Lavonia, Georgia.
Excellent verbal and written communications.
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment with diligent attention to detail.
