Human Resources Manager develops human resources policies and programs and directs the staff in managing and implementing programs that support employee engagement, productivity, and company objectives. Manages key HR functions, including recruiting, employee/labor relations, health and safety, compensation, benefits, training, diversity, payroll, and employee records. Being a Human Resources Manager develops and delivers internal staff communications. Evaluates, selects, and manages relationships with vendors to provide supplemental HR processes and services. Additionally, Human Resources Manager maintains employee records of pay, benefits, accidents, performance, and other activities and files reporting required to comply with labor laws and regulations. Collaborates with leadership on special projects. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Human Resources Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Human Resources Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Manages all Human Resources functions and activities to ensure that the business recruits and retains a qualified workforce to meet GSF and customer objectives.  Ensures compliance with labor, safety, and company rules and regulations.

    Responsibilities

     

     

  • Provides HR Business Partnership to the Senior Leadership Team and drives QCD Strategic Planning in these areas.  Provides HR generalist support. (40%)
  •  

  • Support key HR corporate projects and initiatives, including but not limited to (Development Programs, Associate Survey Administration, Performance Management, GSFU Planning, Hourly Non-Union Increase Process and Component Pay Planning, Open Enrollment Administration, Management Bonus Administration). (30%)
  •  

  • Oversees the implementation, administration, and dissemination of information regarding all Human Resources functions including employment, labor relations, training, management development, employee programs, workers’ compensation, compensation, and benefits for exempt, non-exempt, and union employees, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and company policies, procedures, and regulations (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, EEO, ADA, Title VII). (5%)
  •  

  • Oversees the recruitment, selection, placement, and orientation of exempt, non-exempt, and hourly employees to achieve required staffing levels and selection of the best qualified candidates. (5%)
  •  

  • Ensures strong labor/management relations, compliance with policies, and smooth operations. (5%)
  •  

  • Develops and implements safety programs and practices to ensure compliance with GSF standards and regulatory agencies (e.g., OSHA, DOT, etc.) and to provide a safe and healthy environment for GSF employees. (5%)
  •  

  • Administers performance management and appraisal programs to ensure program effectiveness. (5%)
  •  

  • Investigates employee grievances and harassment or discrimination concerns, taking the required actions to resolve problems and ensure a safe and productive work environment. (5%)
  •  

  • Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary.
  • Qualifications

    Education and experience equivalent to:

     

    Education/Certification:

     

    Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or labor-related field from an accredited college or university

     

    Experience:

    7 to 10 years of relevant work experience
