Position Title: P & C Generalist
Location: Salt Lake City, Utah
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the full life-cycle recruiting process. Recruiting for exempt and non-exempt personnel including preparing and posting employment ads; conducting reference checks; preparing offer letters; conducting new-employment orientation/onboarding
- Work closely with Parkland USA managers for employment postings and announcements
- Investigates issues and complaints and collaborates with management on resolution. Manage employee relations practices necessary to maintain a positive employee-employer relationship and promoting a high level of employee commitment
- Administration of various People & Culture plans and procedures for all company employees; development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures
- Assist with FMLA/LOA administration
- Assist with benefit administration
- Assist in maintaining personnel handbook and other People & Culture policies and procedures as needed
- Process hires, terminations, and changes to employee files in UltiPro as warranted.
- Provide coaching to all employees and managers on a variety of human resources issues
- Demonstrate safe work and risk management practices. Communicate and enforce all safety and security issues. Report and process all employee and/or customer incidents or unsafe acts in accordance with Parkland USA's policy and procedure
- Ensure confidentiality of collected and stored data
- Participate in developing department goals, objectives and strategies
- Participate in general staff and other internal meetings; serve on committees as may be applicable to department functions, organizational development or as directed by VP, People & Culture
- Set priorities and meet deadlines
- Responsible for planning and carrying out assignments, resolve conflicts
- Work with P&C team to continue a collaborative and fun environment
- Ensure technical accuracy of work product
- Maintain good working relationships both internal and external to Parkland USA
- Meet performance expectations and complete all duties as assigned
- Occasional travel may be required
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent work experience
- 3-5 years direct experience in Human Resources including good understanding of HR principles, practices, standards and legal regulations and employment law
- Direct experience with all aspects of recruiting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proficient in MS Office; Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Experience in UltiPro a plus
- Exhibits initiative, responsibility and flexibility
- Effective problem identification, analysis and resolution skills
- Ability to work independently and with a team successfully
- Exhibits superior interpersonal and customer service skills
