  • Summary:

    The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support of some or all the functional areas of human resources, including recruitment, on-boarding, training and development, benefits, performance management, compliance, HRIS and record maintenance.

    Key Job Responsibilities:

    • Assist with recruitment and interview process, manage internal/external job postings, coordinate and schedule interviews; track status of candidates; conduct pre-hire background screening.
    • Assist with tracking and managing temporary employees; coordinate new hires and terminations with staffing agencies.
    • Assist with the creation and revision of job descriptions as necessary.
    • Assist with benefits administration, including monitoring of employee eligibility for benefit plans; annual open enrollment communication and election process.
    • Conduct or assist with onboarding process; administer new hire paperwork, educate new hires on compliance and benefits; provide ongoing customer service by answering employee requests and questions.
    • Assist with training and development activities; maintain and update employee training records, and training matrixes.
    • Ensure compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verifications.
    • Administer employee leaves of absence (e.g., FMLA); complete all necessary forms and documentation; maintain appropriate recordkeeping logs.
    • Maintain employee personnel files to ensure accuracy and compliance.
    • Assist with processing of terminations and off-boarding process.
    • Assist with establishing departmental measurements that support the accomplishment of the company’s strategic goals.
    • Assist with planning and execution of company events such as benefits open enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, retirement celebrations, and related activities.
    • Update job knowledge by participating in professional opportunities; attend seminars and review literature to stay abreast of state and federal employment laws.
    • Adhere to EMS and IATF 16949 Policies and Procedures.
    • Perform all other related duties as assigned by the manager.

    Must Haves (Basic Qualifications):

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field.
    • Minimum 2 years of human resources experience.
    • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Must be detail-oriented and thorough.
    • Must demonstrate a high level of confidentiality.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • General knowledge of employment laws and practices.
    • Must have the ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines and prioritize assignments.
    • Must be able to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
    • Must be proficient with computers and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Proficient with or the ability to learn Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and related software.

    Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications):

    • Master’s Degree.
    • PHR or SHRM-CP Certification is preferred, but not required.
    • Bilingual in Spanish.
    • Workday HRIS experience.
    • Experience in a manufacturing environment highly preferred.
