Cultural Resources Technician

  • Overview

    Under the direct supervision of the Cultural Resources Manager, the Cultural Resources Technician assists the Cultural Resources Management staff and Culture Monitors with clerical and field support as well as conducting project specific tasks.

    Responsibilities

    • Reviews monitor records for accuracy and exports reports with ESRI and ArcGIS Survery123.
    • Coordinates with monitors and provides supplies in the field as needed.
    • Cultural Resources Management vehicle maintenance coordination, maintenance, and upkeep.
    • Organizes, updates, and maintains the Cultural Resources Management equipment inventory.
    • Catalogs artifacts from Cultural Recourses Management projects and on the reservation.
    • Performs Cultural Monitor work as needed.
    • Upholds a work environment that promotes teamwork, partnership, recognition, mutual respect, collaboration, while role modeling the company values, behaviors, and culture of One.Team.Chumash.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology, Archaeology or equivalent work experience highly desired.
    • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification.
    • One year of prior experience in clerical and administrative work preferred.
    • One year of prior experience as a cultural monitor preferred.
    • Advanced computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, email, and internet.
    • Basic knowledge of general business practices, including budgeting, accounting, and forecasting.
    • Native American hiring preference applies.
    • Quality Orientation: Setting high standards regarding his/her work and working environment and acting accordingly; developing quality standards, continuously evaluating performance, products, and procedures; actively seeking ways to improve quality.
    • Attention to Detail: Taking responsibility for a thorough and detailed method of working.
    • Computer Literacy: Using computers effectively and efficiently in the working environment.
    • Planning and Organizing: Setting priorities and defining actions, time, and resources needed to achieve predefined goals.
    • Stress Tolerance: Performing well when faced with pressure due to time frame, workload, adversity, disappointment, or opposition.

    $23.91 per hour

    Maximum Pay Rate

    $28.13 per hour
