Human Resources Director plans and oversees human resources functional operations, including talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, training, employee relations, safety, and compliance. Administers human resources programs and policies to reflect the organization's mission and values, support company goals, achieve objectives, and positively engage the workforce. Being a Human Resources Director maintains broad and current subject matter knowledge and expertise in federal and state employment laws to advise leadership with solutions for human resources issues and evolving organizational needs. Implements an HRIS or other system to facilitate processes and provide data and reporting on HR activity. Additionally, Human Resources Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Human Resources Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Human Resources Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     The Director of Human Resources (HR) provides executive-level leadership and guidance to the organizations HR operations. The Director of Human Resources is responsible for setting, enforcing, and evaluating legally compliant human resources policies, procedures, and best practices, and identifying and implementing long-range strategic employee goals.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:
    • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains management-level HR staff.
    • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
    • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
    • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
    Duties/Responsibilities:
    • Collaborates with executive leadership to define the organizations long-term mission and goals; identifies ways to support this mission through talent management.
    • Identifies key performance indicators for the organizations human resource and talent management functions; assesses the organizations success and market competitiveness based on these metrics.
    • Researches, develops, and implements competitive compensation, benefits, performance appraisal, and employee incentive programs.
    • Provides guidance and leadership to the human resource management team; assists with resolution of human resource, compensation, and benefits questions, concerns, and issues.
    • Ensures compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements.
    • Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management.
    • Drafts and implements the organizations staffing budget, and the budget for the human resource department.
    • Participates in professional development and networking conferences and events.
    • Establish the groundwork for fostering a positive workplace culture and enhancing employee satisfaction.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required;
    • At least ten years of human resource management experience required, with strategic, talent management, and/or business development experience highly preferred.
    • 3-5 years leading a complex healthcare system HR Department preferred.
    • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP strongly preferred.
    Physical Requirements:
    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
