Job Title: Human Resources Director

Salary: $67,000 annual

Summary

The HR Director is responsible for ensuring that the HR needs of 100 plus Tohono O’odham Community College (TOCC) employees are met through implementation of applicable tribal, state, and federal laws governing employee conduct and benefits. The Director works closely with the finance department and with other divisions of the College to ensure timely updates of contracts, onboarding, and related matters.

Essential Duties

• Support the T-So:son (Our Core Values) including T-Wohocudadag – Our Beliefs, T-Apedag – Our Well-Being, T-Pi:k Elida – Our Deepest Respect and I-We:mta – Working Together
• Supervise a staff of two HR Generalists and provide for training and professional development
• Work with IT to upgrade and automate HR Processes
• Work with Finance and Payroll to provide needed updates to status of employees
• Educate the College community overall about personnel issues including Title IX and other applicable tribal, federal, and state statutes.
• Handle personnel issues quickly and professionally as they arise
• Oversee human resources operations including recruitment, retention, training and development
• Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.

Knowledge and skills

• Applicable Federal, State, and tribal laws, rules, regulations, codes, and/or statutes;
• Policy and procedure creation and implementation
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and speech;
• Ability to use a data management system to reduce paperwork and to expedite operations;
• Managing and administering program budgets
• Monitoring and evaluating employee work;
