POSITION SUMMARY: The  Human Resources Assistant will provide administrative support to the Human Resources department at Charles Drew Health Center (CDHC).

POSITION-SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide clerical support to the Human Resources department
• Coordinate and schedule recruitment activities for Human Resources department and hiring managers
• Maintain accurate and up to date human resources files, records, and documentation.
• Respond to verbal and written verifications of employment
• Assist with the planning and execution of meetings and special events such as new hire orientation, all staff meetings, and employee appreciation events,
• Assist with coordination of employee recognition and service awards programs
• Track and monitor license and CPR/BLS information for non-provider clinical staff.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or equivalent required. 1-2 years of clerical experience required, preferably in Human Resources.
• Experience working with a diverse workforce.
• Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Active and valid driver’s license
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with individuals at various levels both inside and outside of the organization.
• Proficiency with Human Resources Information Systems and Microsoft Office – particularly Word, Excel,  PowerPoint, and outlook.
• Hours of Work: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm, 40 hours per week.
• Travel:  Minimal
• Exposure:  While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee rarely is exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.  Additionally, the employee may rarely be exposed to blood borne and other hazardous chemicals.  Finally, the noise level in the work environment can is occasionally quite loud.  In all cases personal protective equipment will be provided to the employee in combination with adequate ventilation and other engineering controls to minimize the risk of exposure or other hazardous occurrence.
