General Job Summary
The Human Resources Assistant - Talent is responsible for assisting with all functions of Human Resources including HRIS, staffing and recruiting, on-boarding, employee relations, creation and/or administration of HR Reports, compensation and benefits. This is a part time role (25-30 hours per week) that is expected to transition to full time in September 2024. The Human Resources Assistant - Talent will work a hybrid schedule between the University Bank office in Southfield, MI and their home office as directed by Management.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Assists the Staffing team in various stages of the recruitment process:
- Posting open positions internally when appropriate.
- Searching internet for resumes to match open position criteria.
- Review applicants to identify candidates that meet the minimum qualifications.
- Conducting prescreen interviews.
- Arrange interview times with hiring manager and candidate(s).
- Performing reference and background checks for potential employees as needed.
- Networking through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups and employees to recruit the best talent to meet current needs and to develop a pool of candidates in advance of need.
- Assists with filing the EEO-1 and VET-4212 report annually.
- Assist in the gathering and analysis of Affirmative Action Plan data and the creation of the annual Affirmative Action Plan.
- Assist in the development and/or editing of position job descriptions.
- Assists in the completion of unemployment documents.
- Assists with the maintenance of updating Org Charts, Officer Lists, and Contact Lists.
- Assists in creating and presenting the annual incentive report to the TMO.
- Assists with tracking and ensuring FDIC Lockouts are taken as required.
- Assists with running all biannual and annual background checks as required.
- Process employee New-Hire and Termination folders and assist with the completion of the folders.
- File daily personnel and HIPAA paperwork.
- Scan and file terminated employee files.
- Create reports in HRIS.
- Create and update HR forms to be used for employees and managers.
- Monitor the HR inbox and respond to employee questions or forward emails to HR team members.
- Assist with updating the Human Resources information pages on the corporate intranet.
- Assist with internal HR audits on personnel files.
- Assist Chief Human Resources Officer with administrative duties as needed.

Education, Training and Work Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years previous administrative/customer service experience required.
- Previous human resources experience desired.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in human resources related field desired.

Working Environment
Primary working enqiscretion. Employee may be subject to florescent lighting, dust, and other normal indoor allergens. Employee may work in close proximity of coworkers and occasionally independently in quiet environments.
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift up to 20 pounds.
- Extended periods of sitting (at computer desk).
- Complete repetitive tasks (including operation of computer mouse/keyboard).

The salary range for this role ($17.00 to $20.00 per hour) takes into consideration a wide range of factors including but not limited to the duties of the role, experience, location, and certificates and/or education.
