Housing Director oversees all aspects of on-campus housing for students. Assigns residence hall managers to each dormitory. Being a Housing Director reviews and updates all housing policies to ensure the safety of residents. May also be in charge of an off-campus housing program. General Definition of Work
Performs work participating in highly responsible administrative and professional duties related to planning, organizing, and directing RRHAs' housing programs, overseeing and coordinating strategic planning, management, and compliance for Public Housing, Multi-family Housing, Project Based Rental Assistance, Low Income Housing Tax Credits, Affordable Housing, and Market Rate properties, supervising the day-to-day operations and budgets of a portfolio of eight (8) Public Housing developments and four (4) multi-facet, Low Income Housing Tax Credit developments, maintaining ongoing effective relationships and partnerships with stakeholders, residents, landlords, Resident Councils, Board of Commissioners, Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) staff, City officials and community organizations, participating in organizational decisions, providing advice, guidance, and direction to direct reports, and other work as apparent or assigned.
This position reports to the Executive Director.
Supervision is exercised over assigned department.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration or closely related field and five (5) years of experience in a progressively responsible management role, public housing asset management or Section 8 management in a public organization, three (3) years of experience in supervision of management staff, three (3) years of experience in budget development and financial management involving substantial resources, significant experience developing operating policies and procedures, or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Master’s degree
2. Considerable years of Low Income Housing Tax Credits or special needs housing program experience.
3. Relevant property management certifications from nationally-recognized bodies in public or private sector property management.
4. Housing Choice Voucher certifications from nationally-recognized bodies.

Obtains Public Housing Manager or Certified Manager of Property Operations designation within six months of employment and maintains throughout employment.
