Housekeeping Supervisor supervises the daily operations of a housekeeping services department to ensure offices, patient/guest rooms, facilities, and other specified areas are kept in a clean and orderly condition. Responsible for standards' establishment, staff training, schedule/resource coordination, workflow inspection, inventory maintenance and equipment supplies. Being a Housekeeping Supervisor may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Housekeeping Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision. Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the housekeeping department
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules and procedures to ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are met
- Train, supervise, and evaluate housekeeping staff, providing guidance and feedback as needed
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure efficient guest services and smooth operations
- Manage inventory and order supplies necessary for housekeeping duties
- Inspect rooms and common areas to ensure they meet quality standards
- Handle guest complaints or special requests promptly and professionally
- Maintain a safe working environment for staff by enforcing safety guidelines and protocols
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in housekeeping management, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting
- Proven experience in supervising and leading a team
- Knowledge of commercial cleaning techniques and best practices
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with staff, guests, and other departments
- Proficient in using computer software for scheduling, inventory management, and reporting
