Housekeeping Supervisors lead our Housekeeping team in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper to deliver a clean hotel that demonstrates our eye for detail and passion for perfection. Housekeeping Supervisors demonstrate professionalism as they manage and develop their team members to deliver a fresh and ready hotel everyday – allowing us to deliver on our mission of an exceptional experience for our guests. Additionally, Housekeeping Supervisors contribute to the overall safety and security of the hotel by reporting damage, promoting safe working habits, and providing support in emergency situations.
· Plans and directs the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper
o Assigns daily task sheets to room attendants
o Oversee operations of the hotel laundry
o Assigns special cleaning duties as part of the hotel’s deep cleaning program
o Manages master key distribution and with room attendants
o Confirms guest’s special requests are completed appropriately
o Daily inspects guest rooms and public areas of the hotel – correcting areas that are short of the hotel’s cleanliness standard
· Maintain clean and organized storage areas of the department
· Provide for shift-to-shift and department communication
· Assist in maintaining weekly department schedules that comply with the hotels operation and department staffing guidelines
· Assist in maintaining department payroll hours/dollars within budget requirements
· Provide training as requested by the Executive Housekeeper to develop and retain a high-performance team; provide encouragement and correction as appropriate
· Provide input to the hotel’s General Manager during the annual budgetary process
· Leads the housekeeping team through actions that model a service and quality mindset
· Promotes a safe workplace
o Manage and maintain employee’s workplace health and safety training
o Identify and correct unsafe employee actions
o Stay current on equipment, chemicals and supplies in use
o Proactively identify safety hazards
o Comply with workplace safety rules and regulations
· Assist in maintaining appropriate par levels of equipment and supplies in the department
· Report any damage, mechanical problems, or missing room equipment/items
· Assist in maintaining Lost and Found items securely and follow proper documentation and procedures
· Ensure deep cleaning programs are maintained per standards
· Must have a professional, warm, and approachable disposition
· Must be able to successfully prioritize and complete tasks through team members in prescribed timeframe
· Effectively communicate with team members, management, and guests
· Good eye for detail
· Demonstrated ability to remain level-headed in hectic and tense situations
· Working knowledge of hotel operations and the equipment used in the housekeeping department
· Ability to adequately communicate with both English and non-English speaking team members
In the absence of the Executive Housekeeper, manages the daily operation and supervises the team members of the hotel’s housekeeping and laundry operations, specifically housekeepers, housepersons, and laundry attendants. Acts as Manager on Duty as required.
This job operates in a hotel environment; the majority of the work is performed in guest rooms and public space areas. Requires the use of cleaning tools and equipment, cleaning chemicals and manual labor to deliver clean and ready rooms.

Regular physical movement is involved in performing the duties and tasks of a Housekeeping Supervisor. Frequently position self to inspect and/or clean all zones of the guest room such as the floor, under the bed, behind furniture, and high and low bathroom fixtures throughout the work shift is required. Will transport up to 300 lbs., will position up to 50 lbs. and will move up to 30 lbs.
