Hot Oil Unit Operator jobs in Maryland
Hot Oil Unit Operator operates machinery used for proper breakdown of wax, paraffin and other buildup in hot oil units. Responsible for proper handling of hot oil truck and all other tools or machinery. Being a Hot Oil Unit Operator may be responsible for training new employees and ensuring that personnel is properly adhering to safety precautions. May perform administrative duties as necessary. Additionally, Hot Oil Unit Operator requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Hot Oil Unit Operator works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. I. JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, provides secretarial support for assigned nursing unit.
Functions include, maintenance of patient and unit records, receptionist activities, coordinating with other departments, maintenance of equipment and supply inventories, post discharge phone calls.
Education * High school degree or equivalent required.
* Familiarity with medical terminology normally acquired through completion of a medical terminology course to be able to transcribe physician orders.
Experience
Skills
* Skill in oral and written communication.
* Ability to read and write to complete requisition forms and computerized order entries, comprehend and communicate complicated verbal and written instructions and ability to perform basic math skills in order to calculate total patient census, order supplies, assemble charts.
* Ability to learn to utilize a computerized order entry system to request specific therapies, tests, meals for patients, to transfer and discharge patients and familiarity with the keyboard.
* Ability to prioritize as well as attend to multiple demands and requests simultaneously.
* Ability to function effectively under stress.
* Competent to safety handle medications

Physical Requirements
* Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail
* Ability to sit for prolonged periods and occasionally walk and stand.
Working Conditions
* Normal hospital working conditions on a nursing unit.
Conditions of Employment
* Successful completion of Unit Secretary training within the probationary period.
