Hospital Staffing Coordinator jobs in Maryland
Hospital Staffing Coordinator coordinates scheduling and staffing to ensure sufficient staff coverage for all shifts within a healthcare facility. Works with clinical and administrative departments to project staffing needs and achieve required staffing levels. Being a Hospital Staffing Coordinator utilizes and maintains staffing scheduling software/programs to schedule shifts, monitor staffing levels, and input related data. May perform other administrative functions as necessary. Additionally, Hospital Staffing Coordinator may be responsible for recruiting new staff. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Hospital Staffing Coordinator works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Summary
JOB SUMMARY:The Staffing Coordinator facilitates the Department of Nursing staffing of the hospital by utilizing and identifying available nursing resources, under the direction of Director and Assistant Director of Virtual Hospital, based upon unit needs and staff/census. Identifies and reports fluctuations to maintain cost-effective staffing patterns. Supports Management in maintaining accurate demographic, skill, and scheduling information on all nursing employees in a computerized scheduling system.- Optimizes the scheduling of daily staff, PRN, Flex Pool, and agency personnel to meet established staffing guidelines.
- Maintains and updates UKG, daily staffing log, call out log, onboarding log, and sitter placement log to ensure accuracy of scheduling information.
- Communicates professionally (oral and written) in a clear, concise, and factual manner.
- Utilizes all available data and job knowledge for effective problem solving.
- Assists team in Operations Resource Center as appropriate.
REQUIREMENTS:- Entry level knowledge; basic employment skills. Degree or HS Diploma not required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience - 3 years of experience preferred in the following areas:
- Scheduling
- Use of multiple phone lines
- Basic computer skills to include use of Microsoft Office Suite and Cerner
- Medical terminology
