Hospital Staffing Coordinator jobs in El Cajon, CA

As a Staffing Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting our organization by efficiently managing staff schedules and ensuring adequate coverage at all times. Responsibilities

• The Staffing Coordinator generates, manages and updates master schedules while making adjustments as needed according to budgetary constraints, census fluctuations, call-ins, and pre-planned leaves of absence. Additional duties include:

  • Reviewing requests for paid time off (PTO), vacation, maternity leave, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and unpaid leaves of absence
  • Fulfilling staffing vacancies in advance to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts
  • Keeping meticulous attendance records and assisting with the progressive disciplinary process if staff members accrue excessive absences and/or late arrivals.
  • Communicating with unit managers, the director of nursing and administrator regarding floor orientation scheduling for newly hired employees in the nursing department.
  • Checking time clock punch records against master schedules and noting the appropriate changes
  • Enter missed punch forms for time & attendance as well as missed meal periods daily
  • Utilizing computer software to prepare, change and update the master schedule
  • Coordinate schedule and staffing levels for the nursing department.
  • Assist DSD with Interviewing CNA' candidates for open positions.
  • Assist DSD with Day 1 of Orientation.
  • Prepare Orientation Packets.
  • Prepare and file New Hire files.
  • Conduct reference checks, background checks and other pre hire screening as needed.
  • Track continuing educational programs for nursing staff.
  • Track Skills/Competency Checklists for nursing staff.
  • Create a floor orientation schedule for new nursing staff.
  • Complete daily prior day Actual NHPPD and current day Scheduled NHPPD reports and post by 8:00am daily for all nursing hours.
  • Work with payroll to manage time clock errors.
  • Meet with DSD, DON &Administrator daily to review staffing, attendance and open positions.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed.

• Current CNA or LVN license/certification preferred.
• 2 years experience in a SNF setting preferred
• 2 years of prior staffing/scheduling experience preferred
• Must be able to communicate effectively with staff and management.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.
• Excellent customer service / people skills.
