Hospice Supervisor manages the resources, operations, and staff of hospice care programs. Works with families and patients to develop optimal care plans. Being a Hospice Supervisor coordinates the delivery of a patient/family assessment process and care plan development. Oversees interdisciplinary teams of medical doctors, nursing staff, and other care providers inside and outside the facility. Additionally, Hospice Supervisor maintains an up-to-date knowledge of laws and regulations of federal, state, and regulatory bodies relative to hospice care. May require a bachelor's degree in nursing, social work or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Hospice Supervisor manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Hospice Supervisor typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Responsible for the 24-hour operation and management of both Circle of Life Hospice Homes. This includes planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and evaluating direct and indirect patient care. Assumes major responsibility for day-to-day operational affairs and leadership of both Circle of Life Hospice Homes. require delivery of skilled nursing care when needed. Will work on the unit rounding from 9-5 Saturday and Sunday, and may assist with floor staffing as needed. Able to pick up additional shifts/hours to increase hours worked if Full Time is desired.
3 or more years of progressively experience in acute care nursing. Demonstrated leadership experience as charge nurse or in other capacity. Experience managing staff on a shift basis and recent experience in a skilled facility or as a case manager of hospice patients required.
