Horse Rider/Exerciser rides racehorses to exercise and condition them for racing. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent and at least 7 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Being a Horse Rider/Exerciser is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. 3 days - Friday through Sunday (Also the ability to work 1 additional day occasionally. If you are highly qualified and can work only Sat-Sun and maybe a different third day, we can still talk). Experienced horse feeder for 19 horses (must have a least 2 years of DAILY horse handling experience or have owned a horse).
Approximately 4.5-5 hours in the morning, 1.5-2.5 hours at night (our current feeder does it in 3.5 hours and 1.5 hours so you can get faster and still get full day rate).
Morning tasks: start 7/7:30 am drop feed for 19 horses, blanket or put on fly masks/fly spray horses and move all horses to paddocks/stalls (1 hr), muck ~9 stalls, add shavings as needed, scrub and refill all water buckets, scrub refill water troughs as needed, give hay to 19 horses, sweep out barn aisles (2.5-4 hours). There are two barns, 16 stalls, and 3 outdoor paddocks (used instead of stalls). Minor care for pigs, cats, and chickens.
Evening tasks: start 6pm in summer (5pm winter) drop feed for 19 horses and move all horses to paddocks or stalls (1 hr), muck ~9 stalls (30 mins - 1 hr)
