    Responsible for the strategic planning, development, and administrative and clinical operations of multiple ambulatory practice clinic locations led by Practice Administrators, Practice Managers and Office Managers. Accountable for the achievement of the strategic outcomes for areas of responsibility and promotes a culture of accountability within the ambulatory structure. Facilitates initiatives related to improving access, integration of patient access data to develop strategic opportunities, and managing the patient experience during the ambulatory encounter. Works with providers and practice leaders to support achievement of medical group and overall system goals. In conjunction with Practice Administrators, provides dotted line supervision for practice staff and providers. Partners with Assistant Chief Nursing Officer of CNE hospitals in practices where nursing leadership oversees or has a matrixed relationship for clinical operations.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    1. In conjunction with the CNEMG President & COO, develops and facilitates the implementation of the strategic direction of CNEMG. Ensures the strategic direction is achieved while ensuring high quality care is delivered.

    2. Establishes and manages physician and provider relationships to enhance productivity to maximize utilization of clinic resources and increase CNE’s net patient revenue. Develops existing and new business to build patient panel levels for new and existing providers. Develops and enhances practice growth and quality of care. Develops operational and financial plans to evaluate the need for and support the addition of new providers and staff to assigned practices.

    3. Partners with system leadership, medical directors, physician providers, nursing leadership, and other team members to establish a collaborative approach to excellence in service, optimal outcomes, and efficient resource utilization. Ensures financial efficiency by adjusting staffing and expenses for variations in projected budget performance caused by fluctuating volumes or other external forces. Provides leadership to direct reports in the execution of approved strategies and long-term goals. Ensures solutions to business challenges are implemented. Fosters an accountable environment by establishing goals for staff and monitoring achievement.

    4. Works with CNEMG President & COO and key CNE partners to strengthen relationships and align with other system operating units. Partners with CNEMG ,CNE and Union leaders, as appropriate, to improve relationships and resolve issues affecting administrative and clinical operations in the practices.

    5. Collaborates with CNEMG COO and other operating unit leaders to evaluates and analyze opportunities to acquire new practices and providers. Leads the acquisition and on-boarding process for practices and providers that transition their operation to CNEMG.

    6. Establishes and manages dashboards that measure operational effectiveness and efficiency, clinical quality, and patient experience of assigned practices. Develop and executes strategic action plans aimed at improving metrics that are not meeting target. Provides dashboard and action plan results monthly to CNEMG President & COO. Makes recommendations for capital, operating and staffing budgets for departments and clinics for which they are responsible. Prepares annual goals and budgets for submission as required.

    7. Directs Practice Administrators and collaborates with other leaders across CNE to develop a coordinated budget for review by the CNEMG President & COO. Investigates, and reports variance findings to CNEMG President & COO and Finance.

    8. Maintains overall responsibility for charge entry, coding, claim edits, and open encounters. Ensures all practice and provider encounters are closed within the prescribed period. Monitors all work queues and holds Practice Administrators accountable for the timely resolution of Charge Review, Charge Router Review, Claim Edit, Follow-up, Open Encounters, and other work queues as assigned to the practices.

    9. Directs the development and implementation of operating policies and procedures to support systems and programs consistent with organization philosophy, strategy and financial accountability.

    10. Meets weekly, in-person, with Practice Administrators to ensure all business needs are met. Ensures Practice Administrators, in collaboration with managers, facilitate monthly practice priority meetings with physicians. Maintains, at a minimum, a monthly presence in all practices managed. Communicates effectively to all levels of the organization.

    11. Partners with supporting departments across the healthcare system including human resources, risk management, compliance, and supply chain to achieve targeted business outcomes. Collaborates with marketing on strategic campaigns to promote the providers and practices.

    12. Maintains overall responsibility for all logistics of operations including space, communication, technology, maintenance, etc.

    13. Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

    Requirements

    Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred. Minimum 7-10 years experience in health care administration.
