Home Care Aide provides household management activities to enable patients in independence at home. Assists patient with self-administered medications and emotional supports. Being a Home Care Aide typically requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or a manager. Additionally, Home Care Aide may require CPR certified. The Home Care Aide possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Entry Level Home Health Aide Qualifications include:
- 1 year of previous work experience
- Comprehensive HHA training program available for those without experience
Entry Level Home Health Aide Job Description:
- Activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, eating)
- Range of motion / exercises
- Home Management Tasks: laundry, meal preparation, bed making etc.
- Assisting with ambulation and transfers
- Use of mechanical lifting devices (will provide training if necessary)
- Medication assistance
