Histology Technologist performs complex histological procedures used to prepare specimens of tissue for examination and analysis by a Pathologist. Performs grossing, processing, embedding, microtomy, and both routine and multiple staining of samples. Being a Histology Technologist performs quality control on completed slides. Identifies problems that may affect diagnosis and results. Additionally, Histology Technologist records observations from tests. Documents maintenance of instruments and equipment used in the lab. Complies with established laboratory policies for universal precautions and safety. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically requires completion of an accredited histotechnology program. Requires ASCP Histotechnologist certification (HTL). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Histology Technologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. This laboratory is looking to hire a permanent and full time Histology OR AP Supervisor on Evening Night Shift. The Histology Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the team during the evening night shift and also is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all histology procedures including embedding, microtome, specials stains and related tasks.
For consideration, applicants must have a Bachelor's Degree or Associates Degree in histology (or related field) in addition to a HTL OR HT Certification through ASCP (or equivalent).
