Being a Highway Patrol may require a bachelor's degree in a related area and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Must meet physical and personal requirements. Additionally, Highway Patrol has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. The Otoe County Board of Commissioners will be accepting applications for the position of Otoe County Highway Superintendent (Full-Time).
Applicant must be dependable, work well under pressure, and work well with others and the public. Applicant must be able to manage a large team of employees and a large workload.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to management and supervision of all County Road Department employees and management of the overall administration and direction of road operations, including the maintenance and repair of roads, bridges, and related facilities, vehicles, and equipment.
Applicant must have a valid Nebraska driver’s license and a good driving record. Successful applicants must currently hold or be able to obtain a County Highway Superintendent License (Class A or B) within eighteen (18) months from the date of hire.
