Highway Patrol patrols assigned geographic area and makes note of unusual or suspicious events. Resolves disputes and enforces traffic laws. Being a Highway Patrol may require a bachelor's degree in a related area and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Must meet physical and personal requirements. Additionally, Highway Patrol has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Responsibilities:
- Provide supervisor duties for night patrol officers
- Provide armed security services to protect the premises and personnel
- Conduct regular patrols to ensure the safety and security of the facility
- Detect and respond to any suspicious activity
- Enforce access control policies and procedures
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and take appropriate action
- Write detailed incident reports documenting any security-related incidents
Requirements:
- Must possess a valid armed security officer license
- Previous experience in loss prevention or security preferred
- Strong observation and surveillance skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations
- Physically fit and able to stand or walk for long periods of time
Note: This position requires the use of firearms, so candidates must meet all state and federal requirements for firearm possession and use.
