Help Desk Support, Sr. responds to end-user requests for technical assistance by phone, email, or ticketing system. Troubleshoots and resolves basic computer, application, system, device, access, or performance issues. Being a Help Desk Support, Sr. uses established processes and procedures to document, track, and resolve reported problems and to meet operational service levels and standards. Utilizes product information or solution database to research, troubleshoot, and deliver solutions. Additionally, Help Desk Support, Sr. advises users on the methods, steps, and actions to resolve and avoid future issues and provides documentation as needed. Escalates problems to appropriate levels or teams to achieve issue resolution. May support installs or upgrades of software or devices, set up user profiles, or re-set passwords. Fulfills all service level standards for response time and quality. May require an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Help Desk Support, Sr. works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.     When you join our team as a IT Help Desk Technician, you'll be part of a team who are committed to supporting our staff in their work of serving seniors, children and families throughout the state of Michigan. In this position, you'll bring associate's degree in a computer related degree or equivalent education and experience. You will also bring 1 years of experience in IT help desk services, a working knowledge of fundamental operations of relevant software, hardware and other equipment. You'll also bring knowledge of computer networking, LAN, WAN, call tracking applications and exceptional customer service.

    As a Help Desk Technician, you will:

    • Provide first line response for users requiring assistance with information technology issues and problems.
    • Respond to requests for technical assistance by phone, email and/or using a ticket management system.
    • Track issues to resolution updating the internal knowledgebase and/or communicating learnings with relevant business units.
    • Perform password resets, re-certify tokens and install certificates.
    • Maintain and support personal computers, tablets, smart phones, servers, network equipment and common applications.
    • Utilize remote control software provided to perform problem resolution or diagnosis as required. · Monitor and escalate alerts from Antivirus systems.
    • Escalate more involved problems to the appropriate Tier 2 and Tier 3 support teams.
    • Quickly and accurately determine incident scope and impact.
    • Follow up on tickets at pre-defined intervals until resolved.
    • Act as a liaison between customers and technical escalation teams.
    • Provide a single view to the organization for information technology related problems.
