Help Desk Support responds to end-user requests for technical assistance by phone, email, or ticketing system. Troubleshoots and resolves basic computer, application, system, device, access, or performance issues. Being a Help Desk Support uses established processes and procedures to document, track, and resolve reported problems and to meet operational service levels and standards. Utilizes product information or solution database to research, troubleshoot, and deliver solutions. Additionally, Help Desk Support advises users on the methods, steps, and actions to resolve and avoid future issues and provides documentation as needed. Escalates problems to appropriate levels or teams to achieve issue resolution. May support installs or upgrades of software or devices, set up user profiles, or re-set passwords. Fulfills all service level standards for response time and quality. May require an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Help Desk Support works under moderate supervision. Position: Help Desk SupportNature of Role: MIKEL is currently seeking a candidate for a Help Desk Support role. This position will provide technical support to a team, supporting the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNWPT) Code 25 laboratory. Candidates should be highly organized and possess excellent written and verbal communication.Responsibilities:- Creation of accounts within multiple applications
- Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to web based applications
- Utilize knowledge base and in house developer support to determine best solution based on the issue and details provided by the customer
- Ask questions to determine the nature of the problem
- Follow up with customers to ensure issue has been resolved
- Provide program support to government customer, including general administrative, clerical, writing, and ad hoc programmatic activities
- Assist in documentation and distribution of secure lab policies and procedure
- Complete purchasing through DoD ITPR process
- Tracking of COTS software licenses and renewals
- Meet daily with government customers to manage tasking requirements and evolving priorities
Requirements:- 3-5 years of experience in a relevant field
- Highly organized with ability to self-prioritize assignments with minimal supervision
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of Navy policies and procedures related to secure labs a plus
