Help Desk Support Assistant responds to end-user requests for technical assistance by phone, email, or ticketing system. Troubleshoots and resolves basic computer, application, system, device, access, or performance issues. Being a Help Desk Support Assistant uses established processes and procedures to document, track, and resolve reported problems and to meet operational service levels and standards. Utilizes product information or solution database to research, troubleshoot, and deliver solutions. Additionally, Help Desk Support Assistant advises users on the methods, steps, and actions to resolve and avoid future issues and provides documentation as needed. Escalates problems to appropriate levels or teams to achieve issue resolution. May support installs or upgrades of software or devices, set up user profiles, or re-set passwords. Fulfills all service level standards for response time and quality. May require an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Help Desk Support Assistant works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.     Apex has an opportunity for a Help Desk Support role . This is a 6 month contract position in Providence, Rhode Island.

    Position : Help Desk Support

    Location : 313 Iron Horse Way Providence RI 02908

    Rate : $20 / hr

    Duration : 6 month-contract-to-hire

    Position Description :

    • Assist with serving as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or email
    • Assist with performing remote troubleshooting and problem diagnoses
    • Utilize internal knowledge and processes to determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by customers
    • Assist with walking customers through the problem-solving process
    • Assist with directing unresolved issues to next level support groups
    • Assist with providing accurate information to customers on IT products or services
    • Assist with recording service call data, events and problems and their resolution in Cherwell Incident Tickets
    • Assist with providing ticket update statuses to customers as requested
    • Assist with providing incident escalation support, including paging of support teams and initiating bridge / conference calls between customers and support teams to drive urgent issue resolution
    • Pass on any feedback or suggestions by customers to the Service Desk Management Team

    English / Spanish Speaking

    Shift : Tuesday-Sunday 3 : 00-11 : 30 PM EST
