Being a Heavy Equipment Operator identifies and addresses potential hazards and adheres to all safety protocols and regulations. May be responsible for scheduling minor repairs and conducting routine maintenance like cleaning and lubricating. Additionally, Heavy Equipment Operator requires a high school diploma. May require State License. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Heavy Equipment Operator independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors. Requirements:
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment, including backhoes, bulldozers, loaders, graders, and horizontal drilling machines.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans.
- Physical stamina to withstand long hours of standing, bending, and lifting heavy objects.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
