Heavy Assembler assembles fabricated parts to large or heavy subassemblies and completes units. Fits, tests, and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Being a Heavy Assembler conducts welding, riveting, and trimming of parts to fit or align components. Uses hand and power tools, jigs, fixtures, and other assembly equipment. Additionally, Heavy Assembler typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Heavy Assembler works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. - Support a philosophy of zero accidents by following all applicable safety procedures and maintaining equipment to operate in the safest way possible.
- Measures and marks pipe for cutting and threading according to specifications.
- Cuts pipe, using saws, pipe cutter, hammer and chisel, cutting torch, and pipe cutting machine.
- Threads pipe, using pipe threading machine.
- Assembles and installs a variety of metal and non-metal pipes, tubes, and fittings, including iron, steel, copper, and plastic.
- Connects pipes, using threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints, and hand tools.
- Secures piping to structures with brackets, clamps, and hangers, using hand and power tools.
- Install insulation in various product types, utilizing respiratory protection as required.
- Support Manufacturing Engineering on improvement projects.
- Support the efforts of Lean and Continuous Improvement teams.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and rules.
- Create and maintain a safe and sanitary working environment.
- Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude.
Basic Qualifications:- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Requires a minimum of one year of related work experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic understanding of hand and power tools and proper use.
- Ability to read and use tape measure accuracy.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area (50 miles) of the facility location will be considered.

- Ability to stand, sit and/or walk on a hard surface as well as safely bend, stoop, reach, climb steps, and use a ladder.

- Ability to work in different environment working conditions (heat, cold, rain, and humidity).
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds following safety procedures.
- Vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
