Heavy Assembler assembles fabricated parts to large or heavy subassemblies and completes units. Fits, tests, and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Being a Heavy Assembler conducts welding, riveting, and trimming of parts to fit or align components. Uses hand and power tools, jigs, fixtures, and other assembly equipment. Additionally, Heavy Assembler typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Heavy Assembler works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. - Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks on various machinery and equipment
- Effectively diagnose and resolve mechanical issues
- Set up and conduct testing on electrical systems, ensuring proper functionality and safety standards
- Utilize computers to access the work order system and participate in web-based training sessions
What you need to be an Assembler :
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous industrial mechanic experience
- Experience with 12-volt electrical systems and standard wiring practices
- Possess tier-level 2 fabrication and welding skills
- Willingness to submit to a drug screening
- Ability to frequently lift 50 pounds, and occasionally lift or move items over 75 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations
- Ability to stand for extended periods with or without reasonable accommodations
