Heavy Assembler assembles fabricated parts to large or heavy subassemblies and completes units. Fits, tests, and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Being a Heavy Assembler conducts welding, riveting, and trimming of parts to fit or align components. Uses hand and power tools, jigs, fixtures, and other assembly equipment. Additionally, Heavy Assembler typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Heavy Assembler works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Entry Level Estimator
1-5 years general construction experience related to heavy civil and highway construction.
· Estimating and scheduling of projects with HCSS (Heavy Bid), Primavera, and Microsoft office.
· Assisting management with Project controls set-up including materials, work plan submittals and job cost tracking.
· Must be proficient in reading and understanding technical specifications and plans.
· Negotiate with suppliers and gain quotes from subcontractors.
· Must be able to accurately complete take offs from drawings.
· College degree in Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent experience.
· Salary range is $45,000.00-$65,000.00 depending on experience.
