Being a Heavy Assembler conducts welding, riveting, and trimming of parts to fit or align components. Uses hand and power tools, jigs, fixtures, and other assembly equipment. Additionally, Heavy Assembler typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Heavy Assembler works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. SUMMARY: Assembles simple and complex metal parts for major military program. Follows work instructions and complete check sheets as necessary. Responds to daily direction from Team Leader or Assembly Technicians appropriately, and raises concerns or issues to them immediately. Assembler works in compliance to all safety, quality, and production procedures to ensure a safe working environment and produce a quality product that will ship to the customer on-time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
Experience:
- Previous manufacturing/assembly experience with a good work history
- Must be a team player
- Punctuality
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools
- Ability to read and interpret assembly instructions and diagrams
