Heavy Assembler assembles fabricated parts to large or heavy subassemblies and completes units. Fits, tests, and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Being a Heavy Assembler conducts welding, riveting, and trimming of parts to fit or align components. Uses hand and power tools, jigs, fixtures, and other assembly equipment. Additionally, Heavy Assembler typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Heavy Assembler works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Cuyahoga Falls is partnering with a Kent-based company specializing in rubber production and is currently seeking a Production Team Builder to join their team.
As a Builder, you will be responsible for crafting custom reinforced inflatable rubber seals based on detailed instructions (spec sheets).
Hours : Standard 10-hour workdays, Monday through Thursday, 6am-4pm, with occasional Fridays and overtime opportunities.
Flexibility : Employees can start anytime within a two-hour window between 4 : 00am-6 : 00am.
Starting Pay : $30,000 yearly
Essential Functions :
- Utilize various tools (scissors, metal rollers, hole punch, etc.).
- Precise measurements (1 / 32 of an inch).
- Cutting, splicing, and joining rubber and fabric components.
- Use chemicals for bonding (Personal Protective Equipment provided).
Competencies :
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong hand-eye coordination.
- Interpret detailed spec sheets.
Work Environment :
- Manufacturing environment with chemical odors.
- Occasional loud noises.
- Elevated temperatures during summer.
Physical Demands :
- Standing for 7 hours per day.
- Mobility as required.
- Tolerance for heat and some chemical odors.
