Job Summary
This full-time position provides overall leadership, management, and long-term planning for patient care departments. The Manager works in collaboration with the Senior Director of Service Lines in providing guidance and supervision of clinical positions in the Service Lines. The Manager leads the overall management and communications for the clinical departments and provides financial and budgetary management, recruitment, retention, and staff development for nursing and outreach clinics. They maintain collaborating relationships with medical providers and multidisciplinary professional staff, fostering patient and staff relations with a focus on quality and safety, and ensuring professional, regulatory, and legal compliance. Participates as a member of the leadership team in planning, policy development, and administrative decision-making with attention to duties, responsibilities, and operations.
Responsibilities include:
- Supervises day-to-day nursing duties, patient scheduling, and outreach operations, resolves physician, practitioner, patient, and staff issues, and ensures that professional, regulatory, and legal requirements are met.
- Ensures appropriate staffing levels and overtime utilization within budget, approves employee timecards, and maintains payroll information.
- Participates in the assessment of staffing needs, maintains master work schedule, adjusts staffing, and forecasts staffing needs.
- Participates in the interviewing process, provides information on disciplinary actions, and mentors staff.
- Provides information into capital and operating budgets and maintains inventory within budget.
- Assisting in Service Line planning and development.
- Initiates the development of policies and procedures that govern nursing services and other services under his or her supervision.
- Collaborates with other departments and agencies regarding resources and services for improved patient care and staff development.
- As needed, performs direct patient care to maintain staffing requirements and carries out medical treatments and special procedures.
- Coordinates, maintains and evaluates staff competencies by direct supervision and peer overview.

Qualifications
A nursing degree is required. Must hold a current RN or LPN license in the state of South Dakota. Eligible for Minnesota license within 3 months of hire.
A minimum of 3 years of leadership and management experience in area of responsibility is required.
Mandatory Basic and Advanced Life Support Training per policy.
