POSITION SUMMARY: The Cardiovascular Service Line Director is responsible for the overall administration
of Cardiac Services within the hospital through the implementation of strategic plans. The Service Line Director
is expected to provide oversight in all areas of the service line, including but not limited to the operations,
financial management, and regulatory agencies and designated accrediting bodies, leadership development,
patient satisfaction, strategic planning, and market share growth of the services in alignment with the mission,
vision and values of the hospital
Cardiovascular Service Line Director directs the staff and programs of the Cardiac Cath labs, EP Lab, CCR,
Chest Pain and Stroke Coordinators. The Cardiovascular Service Line Director will have matrix relationships
with the cardiovascular nursing areas, ED, radiology, surgical services, cardiac rehab, and community outreach
and will serve as point of contact for physicians as it relates to the service line
Guides the staff in the implementation of current clinical evidenced based practices and maintains the associated
competencies
Directs staff regarding productivity and the cost-effective allocation of resources
Understands and enforces all hospital and personnel policies and procedures
Lead and/or serve on hospital committees, teams, and work groups as required
Oversees required cardiac and stroke registry programs
Performs other duties as assigned
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Responsible for acute care case manager management activities, insurance reviews, transfers,
strong knowledge base of DRGs and appropriate admission status. Also demonstrates leadership skills, problem solving
skills, and collaborative skills to work with other healthcare teams, including utilization management activities and
promotion of high-quality cost effective care in a collaborative manner.
Evaluates admissions and hospital’s resource utilization for appropriateness and timeliness. Collaborates
with all members of the healthcare team to assess or coordinate patient and education needs. Completes
all insurance reviews, coordinates multidisciplinary team meetings, and participates in core measure
compliance.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing or American Registry of Radiology Technologist or Comparable Healthcare Field-
Current license or permit to practice in the state of Texas
