The Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor oversees the mechanical maintenance crew involved in the maintenance and installation of mechanical equipment and systems. Implements and sets priorities for the preventive maintenance program which includes greasing and lubricating, replacing filters in air and hydraulic systems, changing belts or drive equipment, checking product handling equipment for wear or damage, inspecting crane cables and hooks and checking hydraulic and pneumatic systems for spills or leaks. Monitors employee compliance with safety procedures. Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs as the FLS (Front Line Supervisor). Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes.
Duties also include oversight of the preventative maintenance program for crafts, administrative tasks, monitoring budgets, establishing policies and procedures and a variety of personnel actions that may include hiring and disciplinary decisions, supervision, training and evaluation of staff.
The Maintenance Supervisor provides direction, coordination, and support for the daily execution of the maintenance crew’s operating plan. Working with the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Engineer, Planner, Maintenance Technicians, Operations, and Safety, the Maintenance Supervisor drives department productivity and quality of workmanship for the purpose of increasing overall availability and reliability of equipment.
