Health and Safety Supervisor supervises the identification and remediation of hazardous workplace conditions. Oversees the measurement and sampling of hazardous materials, and any removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards. Being a Health and Safety Supervisor investigates, analyzes, and reports on any accidents or unsafe events and suggests remedial and preventative actions. Develops a safety conscious culture by providing workforce education on first aid, emergency/safety procedures and regulations. Additionally, Health and Safety Supervisor ensures all necessary records are maintained and are in compliance with all applicable federal and state health and safety regulations. Participates in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a Manager. The Health and Safety Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Health and Safety Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Talentry is looking for an EH&S Specialist who can act
as the Lab Safety Officer (LSO) for our facility as well. This role will perform
PPE and MSDS documentation, ensure stock and supply levels, train on safety and
proper usage, maintain service contracts and monitor warrantees, keep up
chemical and equipment inventory lists, etc.
This person will maintain a BSL2 level environment in a safe
and effective fashion, and have secondary responsibilities handling biological specimens,
prepare reagents, and assist in the lab.
Requirements:
BS in Biology, Chemistry, or similar, and 5 years of
experience.
Experience with Biohazard safety in a BSL2 lab environment.
Excellent communication and documentation experience.
Experience with GLP and FDA regulations.
