Health Underwriting Director jobs in New London, CT
Health Underwriting Director directs and oversees the health insurance underwriting program for individuals and/or groups for medical and/or dental insurance. Responsible for ensuring integrity of underwriting activities and processes. Being a Health Underwriting Director manages staff of underwriters at the organization. Provides assistance to underwriters on more complex applications. Additionally, Health Underwriting Director has a strong knowledge of the underwriting discipline. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Health Underwriting Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Health Underwriting Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Health Director needed for Camp Cove, an Ocean Community YMCA summer youth day camp located in beautiful Mystic, CT.
This is a great way to utilize your skills, have fun, and positively impact our community. This is a seasonal position (May-August) and is full-time Monday-Friday.
The Health Director is responsible for:
- Responding to incidents involving campers or staff
- Administering the appropriate first aide and/or medication administration
- Maintaining camper and staff health forms
- Communicating with parents/guardians timely when an incident occurs including follow up after the incident
- Attend Camp Open House and assist with set up and planning
- Conducting Camp tours as needed
- Ensuring compliance with state and local regulations related to Camp Cove
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Experience working in a camp setting or similar
- Possess a warm and friendly personality with the ability to relate to youth of all ages
- Exhibit maturity and responsibility
- Be well organized and ability to multi-task
- Certifications in CPR/AED/First Aid/Emergency Oxygen Administration- American Red Cross preferred- YMCA will train
