Provides assistance to underwriters on more complex applications. Additionally, Health Underwriting Director has a strong knowledge of the underwriting discipline. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Health Underwriting Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. The growing Cincinnati Re team is currently seeking to fill an underwriting position within the Property reinsurance team. Primary responsibilities include underwriting Property reinsurance business worldwide, helping to advance analytics in conjunction with our modeling/actuarial teams, and deploying the company’s capital in such a way as to maximize profitability.
The successful candidate will be technically minded, and capable of navigating within an ever-changing reinsurance marketplace. We are interested in candidates with 5-10 years of reinsurance experience, either underwriting, analytics or brokering. Candidate must have strong analytical, quantitative, communication and marketing skills, an appreciation for catastrophe risk management principles, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. The location of this position is flexible depending upon the candidate with Cincinnati headquarters being preferred.
The pay range for this position is $ 140,000.00 - $215,000.00 annually. The pay determination is based on the applicant’s education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.
