The SBA Underwriter is responsible for reviewing, credit structuring, documenting and processing loans secured by the Small Business Administration (SBA) to include 7(a) and Express loans. He or she reviews credit information both for new loans and for existing loans and makes recommendations for approval or decline. The SBA Underwriter identifies, analyzes, and evaluates loan risks and compensating factors and ensures the safety of Bank assets. He or she assembles loan packages and ensures that all loans underwritten and sent for approval are complete and meet the Bank's standards and procedures, the SBA’s standard operating procedures, and regulatory underwriting guidelines. In addition, he/she assists with the processing and closing of all SBA loans.
