    Job Overview:
    The purpose of a Director of Client Safety Services and Loss Control is to provide value added service to BHC clients and prospects by evaluating, developing, and enhancing client work environments and health and safety policies and programs. Primary emphasis is on providing technically sound recommendations for improving work-place safety and loss exposure. Provide consultation in reducing insurance related losses, or by mitigating exposures that could cause losses. This role is about building relationships and doing so within the core values of the agency.

    Duties/ Responsibilities:
    · Identify financial, safety or security risks that the client or organization may face.

    · Develop, evaluate, and enhance established safety programs for prospects and clients using industry specific best practices.

    · Analyze loss experience to identify patterns and trends from which to build improvement.

    · Guide clients in establishing loss control programs and accident investigation protocol.

    · Assist clients with OSHA fine/ penalties.

    · Conducts risk assessments, collecting and analyzing documentation, statistics, reports, and market trends.

    · Develop corrective methods, controls, and procedures to improve client work environments. Assist client in the implementation of recommendations, monitor progress and results.

    · Review carrier loss control recommendations with clients; coordinate corrective actions and communicate results to carrier and agent.

    · Assist in client administration of OSHA, DOT, NFPA, EPA and other relevant safety and loss control standards.

    · Be able to conduct training for clients.

    · Assist clients in setting up or improving safety committees.

    · Provide client evaluation and training in Industrial Hygiene, including air quality, ergonomics, and occupational health.

    · Provide loss control technical support to agents; seize opportunities to educate agents on pertinent topics.

    · Conduct regular inspections of client facilities and equipment to identify improvement areas.

    · Introduce and interpret various Federal, State, City and industry-recognized rules, regulations, and procedures as they impact the work-safety environment.

    · Follow agency standards and core procedures to assure consistent quality and products.

    · Attend and participate in trade associations (meetings, committees, seminars, trade shows) that are relevant to our client base.
    · Prepare action plans to decrease risk factors.

    · Perform risk evaluation which assesses the way the company previously handled risks.

    · Evaluate existing policies and procedures to find weaknesses.

    · Prepare reports and present recommendations.

    · Help implement solutions and plans.

    · Promote risk awareness and culture.

    · Advise clients on setting up a Drug Free Workplace, including providing situational counseling.

    · Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process.

    Education and Experience:
    · Bachelor’s degree in business, Occupational Safety and Health or Risk Management, and 4 years’ experience in safety, safety/ accident investigation or 5 years related experience in lieu of degree.

    · Arkansas Agent’s Property & Casualty License (preferred)

    · Five years of Risk management/ Safety experience preferred.

    · Strong forensic/ investigative skills.

    · Knowledge of construction and manufacturing industries.

    · Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    · Professional Certifications Preferred, i.e. Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS), associate in risk management (ARM), OSHA Authorized Trainer, or Certified Loss Control Specialist (CLCS).
