The Director of Health Information Management provides overall management and strategic leadership of the Health Information Management programs and related services. Representing Health Information Management, the Director is responsible for facility-wide oversight of the compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards associated with Health Information Management, budgetary duties and fiscal performance of the Health Information Programs and affiliated services, leadership of Health Information team members, resource development and implementation, and measurement, reporting and audit of Health Information programs Performance Metrics. The Director of Health Information Management develops internal and external growth initiatives in coordination with the facility's strategic growth initiatives.
Bachelor's degree in health information, business management, or related field is required. Master's degree is preferred. Ten (10) years in progressive Health Information Management roles is required. Supervisory and or management experience is strongly preferred. Must demonstrate analytical thinking and interpretation skills regarding financial data as related to Health Information. Advanced computer skills in data processing and health information applications are required. Experience with process improvement and multidisciplinary department collaboration is strongly preferred. Requires the ability to develop and present educational content to diverse staff population regarding Health Information Management topics.
