Position Overview
The Center for Community Health and Development seeks a full-time Research Informatics Analyst to support technology applications used by our community-based partners and colleagues, including the Community Check Box Evaluation System, the Community Tool Box, and customized action toolkits.
The University of Kansas Center for Community Health and Development supports community health and development through collaborative research and evaluation, teaching and training, and technical support and capacity building.
Job Description
50% - Under general supervision, provides support for developing and maintaining technology applications for faculty, staff, and community partners (clients) of the Center for Community Health and Development. Conceptualizes, designs, develops and implements applications. Supports requirements gathering, data management, user experience design, quality assurance, and deployment of applications. Elicits user requirements and translates into actionable proposals to obtain bids from technology vendors. Participates in the design and implementation of customized online applications and websites with a community health and development focus.
30% - Creates and modifies documents (reports, flyers), codes (CSS and HTML), develops graphics (web, social media), optimizes images for design changes, and makes updates to support applications' user interface. Tests, troubleshoots, and performs technical work required to implement solutions. Provides needed updates, user support, and related training. Updates user help materials and supports partner communications. Works with technology vendor to request assistance or report “bugs” as needed. May supervise student employees.
20% - Documents technology support provided. Provides design support, assist with website updates, and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school/GED and 3 years related experience OR Associate’s degree and 2 years related experience OR Bachelor’s degree in field related to discipline.

Experience working with diverse individuals and groups in a welcoming and inclusive environment as demonstrated by application materials.

Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills as evidenced in application materials.

Experience using CSS, HTML, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, WordPress, Drupal, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel and other relevant software solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree

Experience providing customer service, training, or technical assistance.

Experience building relationships with community and professional audiences.

$54,000 - $69,000, commensurate with experience.
