Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or University with a major in social work, psychology, or a field related to human behavior. Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
Must become certified to complete the State approved Uniform Assessment for Adults or Child/Youth within 90 days of hire and maintain that certification without lapse.
Description:
The purpose of this program is to support and restore the delivery of clinical services that were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Staff is responsible to provide new or enhanced outpatient services to individuals identified with serious emotional disturbance (SED), serious mental illness (SMI), and individuals with SMI or SED and substance use disorders, referred to as co-occurring disorder (COD) due to pandemic. Performs minimally complex social service work. Responsible to staff and gain approval for SUD residential services, oversight of services, evaluating the effectiveness of authorized services, and assures clients are lined to aftercare SUD counseling services. The primary focus of a SUD specialist is to be a liaison to the SUD services array. The SUD specialist will provide screening, assessments, referral, and treatment follow up services for all persons served. Acts as a liaison between integrated teams to properly equip persons served in efforts to prevent inpatient admission. Works under moderate supervision with latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Provides brief substance abuse focused interventions to persons served inclusive of referral to care based on the person’s served wholistic needs. Will be knowledgeable of the ASAM Criteria and will work collaboratively with the MCOT team. Works under moderate supervision with latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Provides skills/psychosocial rehabilitation to clients authorized for such services.
