Health Informatics Manager manages a clinical biostatistics or health informatics team. Oversees the analysis, management and performance of health information data to aid patient care. Being a Health Informatics Manager monitors latest software and technology to keep processes up-to-date and efficient. Communicates with analysts, healthcare providers, and management to establish new processes and analyses, and to tailor current data processes to best help providers. Additionally, Health Informatics Manager requires a master's degree. Typically reports to a director or head of a unit/department. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Health Informatics Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.   • Long Island Select Healthcare Inc. (LISH) is a comprehensive network of community health centers under a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) model. We provide Article 16 and 28 clinic services at 8 locations across Suffolk County, New York.

    LISH is currently searching for a Full-Time Health Informatics Specialist. This is an an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in working with a forward-thinking, nonprofit healthcare provider looking to achieve better health outcomes through the identification and development of data-driven solutions to improve patient health and clinical workflows. This is not a remote work opportunity, applicants must be available to work onsite from Hauppauge, NY.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    1. Provides single point of contact for all concerns and matters related to the eCw Service Desk, RHIO connection, Patient Portal, and other applications as assigned
    2. Analyzes & Presents varied data derived from clinical applications to help Leadership Team facilitate decisions and actions
    3. Anticipates operational, program, and implementation issues and develops preventive measures
    4. Evaluate, identify, and recommend opportunities for process and procedure enhancements to drive efficiencies in day to day operational activities including but not limited to the telephone system and billing
    5. Provides input on processes and procedures, and identifies optimization in eCw workflows
    6. Serves as undergraduate & graduate student intern point of contact and preceptor
    7. Works closely with Director of Virtual Care & Team to facilitate growth of telemedicine initiatives
    8. Works in conjunction with Dir. Of Quality to support patient data efforts related to HEDIS and HRSA
    9. Ability to design and implement tools to measure data, patient care effectiveness and processes
    10. Trains staff in the use and application of LISH’s EMR (EcW) 
    11. Participates in change management processes and pertinent eCw implementations, changes, and scheduled downtimes
    12. Prepares monthly and quarterly presentations regarding open and closed tickets, ongoing issues related to eCw
    13. Ability to self-direct work efforts and take initiative

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    REQUIRED

    • Bachelors Degree in Health Care Administration or Health Informatics
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Demonstrate proficiency in computer technology
    • Familiarity with E-clinical works system or other EMR systems 
    • Ability and means to travel to other sites for coverage as needed   

     

    ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Masters Degree in Health Care Administration or Health Informatics preferred
    • RHIT or RHIA preferred
    • 3 years experience as a Health Informatics Specialist or equivalent role
