Job Summary
Tri-Area Community Health (https://triareahealth.org/) is a Federally Qualified Health Center headquartered in Laurel Fork, Virginia, with full-service locations currently open in Ferrum, Floyd, Fries, Grayson Highlands (Troutdale), and Laurel Fork, Virginia along with a site in collaboration with Galax City Public Schools. For over 40 years, Tri-Area has provided care to underserved individuals in Southwest Virginia. We offer integrated primary medical and behavioral health care in all these clinic locations. We also have pharmacies that are open in Ferrum and Laurel Fork and a pharmacy in Fries that will open soon. Our three large sites are National Committee for Quality Assurance-certified Patient-Centered Medical Homes and behavioral health professionals at all sites are eligible for National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment (HPSA score of 19).

POSITION: We are seeking a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Professional Counselor to serve as Tri-Area’s Behavioral Health Director. The Behavioral Health Director is expected to work 4-5 days a week seeing patients, completing administrative duties, and visiting clinics. The preferred home clinic location is Laurel Fork or Fries. The position requires competency in providing interventions to individuals, families, couples, and groups with behavioral health and/or substance use problems in a primary care setting. Patient care is provided in an integrated model, in collaboration with medical professionals. The Behavioral Health Provider must operate in accordance with the terms and conditions of the various contracts and grants providing the funding for Tri-Area’s programs and projects. As Behavioral Health Director, this person supervises other Behavioral Health Providers and is involved in writing and implementing organizational policies and procedures.
Pay will be based on education and experience.
