Health Informatics Director directs an organization's clinical biostatistics or health informatics department. Oversees the analysis, management and performance of health information data to aid patient care. Being a Health Informatics Director monitors latest software and technology to keep processes up-to-date and efficient. Communicates with other departments and team members to identify new sources of data, ensure data is used effectively, and establish new initiatives. Additionally, Health Informatics Director requires a master's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Health Informatics Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Health Informatics Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     The Director of Adult Home Health will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee daily operational activities in the organization, ensuring process development and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the organization. This leader is responsible for leading a department of clinicians and administrative teammates; effectively utilizing available resources. Tenacious and comfortable with prospecting; perseveres in the face of obstacles.

    The leader will ensure visibility and transparency of opportunities within the Adult Home Health Department. The Director will have a matrix reporting structure to the President.

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred, or other allied health care discipline with master's desirable

    Experience:

    • 5 years of relevant clinical and management experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired

    License Requirements:

    • RN preferred. PT, OT or SLP license will be considered


    PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Plan, implement, administer, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate all programs, functions and services of the Adult Home Care Program. Develop and modify home care nursing programs, services and operating systems in accordance with organization goals and resources, as well as community needs and changing professional standards.
    • Manage and direct the program's priorities. Assess community/client need to set direction of the program services. Establish short and long term goals of the program.
    • Exercise full supervisory authority, direct and indirect, over all full-time and part-time Adult Home Care clinical and office staff. Interview and hire. Oversee/carry out the planning and conducting of appropriate formal and informal orientation and training programs for new staff and managers. Confer regularly with the Team Managers and staff to plan, coordinate and evaluate activities/services, assign and review work, assist with difficult or unusual cases, resolve problems, and the like. Oversee/carry out job performance evaluation for Team Managers, review salaries and make recommendations. Plan and conduct/coordinate a variety of ongoing staff development and team building programs to enhance competency and team effectiveness. Plan departmental staffing needs. Oversee all case assignment and scheduling functions carried out by supervisory staff.
    • Monitor all departmental operations and services regularly, and deal with a variety of problems that arise on a daily basis. Supervise, coordinate and/or carry out various quality assurance functions, including review of admissions assessments and case plans, chart audits, client visits, and the like. Ensure that all staff are kept informed of and fulfill all applicable requirements related to clinical documentation.
    • Assist as needed in case management of select unusual or difficult cases, including admissions assessments and case plan development, patient visits, coordination of patient services with physicians and other community health and human service agencies and organizations, and so forth.
    • Plan, request and administer the Adult Home Care budgets. Assume fiscal responsibilities for the program(s) and their operating budgets. Understand and plan for program viability including setting of productivity standards, analysis of financial progress, and grant writing oversight as needed.
