Health Educator is responsible for developing and designing health education programs meant to increase community awareness and knowledge. Conducts needs assessments and keeps up-to-date on changes in health care technology to keep program material current. Being a Health Educator develops, coordinates, and disseminates educational resources and materials. May provide health education outreach and consultation. Additionally, Health Educator requires a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Health Educator work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     Job Purpose and Objectives:
    Incumbent serves as front line Health Educator that provides public health education and supports policy, environment and systems changes which positively impacts the health of Reno County residents. Incumbent serves as a public health resource person for the Reno County Health Department, and the Reno County community for programs as assigned. Incumbent will assist in grant writing and grant reporting as directed.

    • 1-3 years’ experience in public health preferred. Education may be substituted for experience.
